ESI Group (France) is currently seeking a Technical Engineer for our Smart Manufacturing team in EMEA. The successful candidate will manage and be actively involved with pre- and post-sales activities related to virtual Manufacturing focused on Sheet Metal Forming, Welding and Assembly processes.

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:

Managing specific clients implementation projects of simulation technologies (pre sales) :

  • Execution of Pre-Sales activities at customer and prospects in close cooperation with our sales department
  • Application of our solutions in customer projects to highlight customer value
  • Creation of demonstrators according to client and market requirements
  • Preparation of technical documentation for commercial support in pre-sales work
  • Attendance at webinars and seminars

Technical support and training tasks for clients who use simulation tools (After-Sales)

  • Functioning as main technical contact person for our French speaking customers including customer relationship building
  • On-Line technical support to clients regarding the handling and application of the software
  • Technical assistance, on-line and on-site, for our customers including specific processes and definition of customized methodologies
  • Preparation and execution of trainings and seminars
  • Communication with our global development and product management team to implement product improvements according to customer requirements


  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or related sciences
  • Capability for analytical and abstract thinking and methodological competence
  • Self-motivation, proactiveness and innovative thinking
  • Knowledge about Welding, Assembly and/or Sheet Metal Forming processes
  • Strong communication skills in French AND English.
  • Any other language is a plus
  • A background in manufacturing and/or production and/or service engineering environments in fields such as Aerospace, Heavy Equipment, Automotive is a plus
  • Willingness to take ownership and work towards defined objectives within a team
  • Basic knowledge of Project Management techniques
