Mechanical deformation of the preform might occur during resin injection, in processes such as Vacuum Assisted Resin Infusion (VARI), Compression-RTM (C-RTM), High Pressure RTM (HP-RTM) …. This deformation created by the resin pressure, locally modifies the properties of the preform (fiber content, thickness, permeability) and, as a consequence, affects how the resin will flow. It is thus important to capture this deformation to accurately simulate the process and predict associated manufacturing defects.

This behavior is captured thanks to a fluid-mechanics coupled simulation that will be described and demonstrated during this webinar.

This new capability was released in December 2016 version of PAM-COMPOSITES.
