Who? ESI Group is a leading innovator in Virtual Prototyping software and services for manufacturing industries. Specialist in material physics, ESI has developed a unique proficiency in helping industrial manufacturers replace physical prototypes with virtual prototypes, allowing them to virtually manufacture, assemble, test and pre-certify their future products.

What? On the 1st day of the INNOPROM 2017 trade show in Ekaterinburg, Russia, ESI and the Ural High-Tech Park signed a memorandum for a strategic partnership to cooperate on joint R&D activities, business development, and marketing programs. INNOPROM is an annual industrial trade show focusing on major industries and technologies that underpin Russia’s program for industrial and manufacturing development. A platform for international cooperation since 2010, more than 50 000 people from 95 countries and 600 companies attended the event.

The Ural High-Tech Park, also called High-Tech Technopark Universitetskiy, is a Russian innovation center, the largest in the Sverdlovsk region, which aims to develop the local economy and provide the qualifications necessary for the workplace. Ural High-Tech Park’s mission is to increase the scientific, technological, innovation, and industrial potential of the Ural region.

ESI is one of the biggest and well-known developers of industrial software in Europe. We have already purchased and installed ESI solutions in our Engineering Center, and with this memorandum, we plan to continue cooperating across the engineering field and developing new Virtual Prototyping methodologies,” says Denis Skomorokhov, General Director of High-Tech Technopark Universitetskiy. “In cooperation with ESI, Technopark must become the link between two domains often kept separate: the scientific and the industrial.”

Both ESI and High-Tech Technopark Universitetskiy agreed to develop their cooperation on many levels such as software unification, mutual integration of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) solutions. They plan to create common work projects in engineering and R&D to share their experience and knowledge in educational and analytical spheres. The partners will also organize joint business events and technical conferences and create a point of presence for ESI subsidiary MECAS ESI s.r.o. in the Russian institution’s facilities to showcase ESI’s latest software solutions.
