Welding Simulation Engineering:
Reference: SWD-WM-A

Understanding the Material Background
Level: Advanced
Duration: 2 days
Audience: Engineers from product development, process design and manufacturing dealing with welding processes, from the automotive and heavy industries.
Objectives: First, understand the influence of material properties on the quality of results (how to define the appropriate parameters, what is their sensitivity). Second, learn to create a material database. Finally, understand the background of computed results.
Prerequisites: Course: Welding Simulation Engineering: Getting it Right (SWD-W-B) Recommended: basic knowledge of non-linear Finite Element technology and numerical methods, plus a strong understanding of practical welding.
Description: Creation of a material database, according to the participants’ needs. Discussion on the meaning and consequences of numerical parameters, in order to achieve the fastest possible computation without decreased quality of results. Detailed analysis of computed results using Sysweld, the leading simulation solution for heat treatment, welding and welding assembly.
