Reference: SWD-HN-A

Geometry (Heat Treatment Simulation Engineering)
Level: Advanced
Duration: 1 day
Audience: Advanced designers and heat treatment practitioners; simulation engineers; engineers from product development, process design and manufacturing dealing with heat treatment processes.
Objectives: Understand the background of numerical parameter files used in the Heat Treatment Advisor. Design numerical parameter files to achieve the shortest possible simulation time, whilst keeping good quality of results. Model with Finite Elements to get the best possible simulation models. Using Sysweld.
Prerequisites: Course: Heat Treatment Simulation Engineering: Getting it Right (SWD-H-B) Recommended: basic knowledge of non-linear Finite Element technology and of numerical methods.
Description: Description: Based on an extensive Benchmark, this course explains the optimized usage of iterative techniques, linear system of equation solvers and automatic time stepping parameters. The meaning and consequences of numerical parameters is discussed, with the objective of achieving the fastest possible computation without decreased quality of results. Keys to convergence – the optimization of simulation models – are examined.
