Foam-X
Foam-X is a standalone utility for characterizing the Biot properties of open-cell porous materials based on impedance tube measurements (following ASTM E1050 or ISO 10534-2). Foam-X is ideally suited for measuring material property data for use in systel level VA One models.
Benefits
- Get accurate measurements of Foam and Fiber material property data for use in VA One models
- Quickly characterize Biot parameters from simple impedance tube measurements
- Assess the sensitivity of the response to uncertainties in the measured poroelastic properties
- Investigate the sensitivty of measurements to frame boundary conditions
Features
- Characterization of open porosity, static airflow resistivity, tortuosity, viscous and thermal characteristic lengths and static thermal permeability
- Characterize Foams (metallic, polymeric, chipped foams etc)
- Characterize Fibers (glasswool, glass fiber, felt, resinated cotton, fabrics etc.)
- Compatible with rigid, limp and elastic frames
- Users guide Includes measurement guidelines and validation data
