Statics analysis

With its new module dedicated to statics analysis, Virtual Performance Solution version 2010 allows you to measure the effect from static loads like temperature, forces and pressures. The response from the structure can be linear or nonlinear involving contacts, large rotations and material nonlinearities.

“With Virtual Performance Solution, we use one single core model of a vehicle bonnet to perform stiffness analysis and pedestrian protection analysis. Two simulation models for different load cases are no longer needed. Using a single core model allows us to perform faster design changes: giving us a competitive advantage. Furthermore, the calculation with the Implicit module is two times faster and uses less memory than what we used before.”

Typical output is to investigate stress levels, hot spots, remaining plastic deformation after unloading, springback after a car crash or simply stiffness. The module for statics analysis is efficient making optimal use of multiple cores and memory as used in nowadays modern hardware.

Virtual Performance Solution shares the same unique data model for all Implicit and Explicit solution schemes. It allows you to reduce model setup time while time improving data consistency at the same.

The module for statics analysis can be used for multi-stage analysis taking into account manufacturing or loading histories into your virtual test environment for more accurate responses.

Multi-stage allows the solver to switch between various Implicit and Explicit integration schemes in a physical useful way within the same solver run.
