Finite Point Method for airbag inflation
The Finite Point Method (FPM) is a predictive Computational Fluid Dynamics module fully integrated in PAM-CRASH. By accurately predicting the gas flow during airbag deployment, FPM can assess the loading of the airbag system in its environment, taking in to account the vehicle occupant and structural components. As this simulation method uses real physics equations, it helps avoid extensive parametric studies and reduces cost and turnaround time.
