Process: composites forming simulation of dry textiles and prepregs
PAM-FORM simulates the entire forming process, allowing engineers to select the most appropriate material, the right tooling design, and the best process parameters. Taking into account the physics of the forming process, PAM-FORM enables the user to predict manufacturing defects such as wrinkling at ply or laminate level and to correct these by optimizing the process parameters. It’s a ready-to-use industrial tool to assist professionals in the composite manufacturing industry.

What PAM-FORM can do for you?
PAM-FORM allows process engineers and designers to define and optimize:
- The forming process: stamping, thermoforming, diaphragm forming…
- The clamping conditions
- The process parameters: temperature cycle, tool velocity, pressure
- The design of the tools
By predicting at ply or laminate level:
- Wrinkles
- Bridging
- Thicknesses
- Flat patterns
- Fiber orientations
PAM-FORM for composites includes material models for UD, NCF, fabrics, dry textiles, prepregs, thermosets and thermoplastics.
