Linking CAD and CAE in Visual-Environment
Level: Basic
Duration: 2 days
Audience: CAE Analysts from OEMs, Suppliers; CAE software users; users in charge of preparing models, synchronizing CAD and CAE, or between different simulation disciplines
Objectives: Learn how to create the data structure that allows to build synchronized models for multi-disciplinary load cases, how to manage and assemble CAE models starting from CAD and connections definition
Prerequisites: Previous experience with ESI’s Visual Environment
Description: This course is offered strictly on-demand and can be customized according the user’s way of managing CAD data.
Course content:

Day 1:

  • Introduction, definition of the concepts
  • Defining Master Assembly, Load Case view, Iteration models
  • Create and associate multiple meshes to parts
  • Import connections definitions, validation, propagation in the different load case views
  • Automatic Iteration models creation (Visual-Process Templates)
  • Running integrity check processes and  other capabilities
  • Propagation of design changes from CAD to iteration models

Day 2:

  • Introduction to data schema customization
  • Concepts and demonstration of Simulation Content Manager, database implementation of VisualDSS
  • Usage of the database implementation of VisualDSS on a simple scenario: project creation and save, database query
  • Tracking, Validating simulation data, version management.
