Major new release includes over 40 enhancements
ESI Group is pleased to announce the release of VA One 2008.0. VA One is a complete solution for simulating noise and vibration across the full frequency range. VA One seamlessly combines Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA), Finite Elements and Boundary Elements in ONE model. This is the second major release of VA One in 2008 and includes more than 40 major enhancements across all modules.
VA One Fast Multipole BEM model of tire-noise at 1.5 kHz.
Fast Multipole Boundary Element solver
VA One now includes a fully integrated Fast Multipole (FMM) Boundary Element solver. With FMM you can solve a Boundary Element model with a million degrees of freedom in a matter of hours using a standard PC. This opens up a extensive array of new applications including: improved models of pass-by noise and the use of FMM to define exterior loads in system level SEA models.
Enhanced productivity
The VA One 2008 release includes a number of enhancements to improve productivity. You can now find and run scripts quickly from the list of recently used scripts and edit scripts more easily with the use of saved settings. Scripting is also now supported on Windows 64, enabling you to take advantage of customization and process automation for large models. Additional support has been added for quickly creating SEA cavities from "shrinkwrapped" geometry, reducing the time required to create complex models.
An integrated environment
VA One 2008 now supports import of FE geometry from PAM crash (.dsy) files. Applications include improved modeling of the acoustic transmission loss of rubber seals (by importing Visual-Seal models directly into VA One). CAD import has also been improved with additional "stitching" options and improved support for Catia V5, Pro-E and Step.
