Periodic Subsystem module
The VA One : Periodic Subsystem module provides an efficient way to model the response of large complex periodic vibro-acoustic systems. The module contains functionality for quickly creating a small Finite Element model of a "unit cell" within VA One. The unit cell can include external fluids and structural and acoustic loads. The software then automatically applies periodic boundary conditions and efficiently calculates the response of a much larger panel. The module is ideally suited for creating detailed models of aircraft fuselages, ribbed hulls, isogrid fairings and extruded train floors.
Benefits
- Create accurate models of the vibro-acoustic response of complex structures across a broad frequency range
- Optimize the local cross-section of a component to maximize TL and minimize radiation efficiency
- Determine the best arrangements of stiffeners on composite fuselages and optimize the location of local damping treatments
- Optimize the locations of local attachments to minimize input power
- Update system level SEA models with information from detailed local periodic models
Features
- Advanced periodic theory developed as part of a long term research program coordinated by ESI Group
- Import external FE models and/or create directly in VA One
- Easily define external fluids and structural and acoustic loads
- Automatic identification of edge and corner nodes
- Automatic application of flat and singly curved periodic boundary conditions
- Calculates modal density, radiation efficiency, transmission loss, input power, overall damping and EU response
- Intuitive setup and model management within the VA One environment
