Nova

Nova is an easy-to-use, flexible and powerful solution used to predict and optimize the acoustic absorption of acoustic materials and their integration into multi-layered structures.  Apply to: Foam (metallic, polymeric, chipped foam, etc.), Fiber (glass wook, glass fiber, felt, cotton, fabrics, etc.), Visco-elastic and solid structures (thin, thick, septum, and perforated panels: micro- porus and impervious screens), and other sound deadners.

By numerically modeling these materials, design decision can be made to improve the performance in the required application.

Automobiles: carpets, seats, floor, panel treatments

Buidlings: insulation walls, doors, carpets, single/double windows

Materials: rand and optimize acoustic performance

Features & Benefits

  • Nova includes two models:
-Mid and high-frequency based on Transfer Matrix Method with     correction for finite size effects

-Low frequencies based on FEM/BEM modeling

  • Provides the most advanced models for porous materials (ridgid, limp, felts, elastic, screens, and perforated panels)
  • Allows unlimited combination of domains
  • Accounts for orthotropic, sandwich and composite panels
  • Includes automatic detection and coupling of domains (elastic & fluid)
  • Studies the effects of different boundary conditions and both mechanical and acoustic excitation sources
  • Includes extensive materials database
  • Accounts for finite size effects in the high-frequency module
  • Allows simulation of impedance and bazooka tests, transmission loss tests and random incidence absorption tests
