EFM (Energy Flow) module

The VA One : EFM module provides all the functionality you need for postprocessing a Finite Element model to extract effective SEA parameters.  The module is ideally suited for predicting coupling loss factors for complex structural components.  These coupling loss factors can then be inserted into a system level SEA model.  The module is based on an exact implementation of the "Power Injection Method"
and is fully integrated within the VA One solution process and environment.

Energy Flow (EFM) model of a vehicle
Benefits
  • Get more accurate models of the transmission of noise and vibration through complex local junctions
  • Update system level SEA models with coupling loss factors extracted from component level FE models
  • Validate existing SEA models against local detailed FE models

Features

  • Import or create FE structural subsystems directly in VA One
  • Calculate local mass and stiffness matrices using inbuilt FE structural solver or external Nastran solvers
  • Advanced postprocessing equations to calculate Energy Influence Coefficients and Effective Coupling Loss Factors
  • Intuitive setup and model management within the VA One environment
