Position manages and is actively involved with the day-to-day technical software application operations in the welding simulation space using advanced finite element methods. Position is responsible for technical support, developing trade service project opportunities, performing trade service projects and pre-sales technical support.

Perform and/or manage engineering applications projects using Sysweld and Weld Planner or other relevant software tools using advanced finite element methods.
- Create quotes / proposals for consulting services including defining technical approach to solution of the problem
- Coordinate / perform materials/structures/welding application training classes at ESI or customer sites, possibly including the development of training materials.
- Assist with business development by identifying and communicating additional services or licensing opportunities to ESI sales team.
- Prepare and deliver technical pre-sales presentations to potential customers per business development request.
- Perform front-line / hot-line technical support to customers of the relevant trade products.
- Attend trade shows and conferences to provide technical support to the sales and marketing team.
- Develop, write and present technical papers and other technical publications with respect to the trade application product(s).
- Act as liaison to business development / technical group for reporting of quality issues, customer requests and other technical documents and details which may be requested by the trade management.
- Prepare reports and other documentation as directed and assigned by the management.
Specific requirements

Educational Qualifications – Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or other relevant engineering discipline) or Bachelors and 5+ years of experience in application engineering or relevant industry experience.

Strong knowledge of Finite Element Methods, engineering simulation and related software.

Welding/Materials/Metallurgy/Structures Specific Experience.

Structural design experience.
