End-to-End Virtual Prototyping for AERONAUTICS

End-to-End Virtual Prototyping for Aeronautics

Our customers in aeronautics and aerospace sectors face the challenge of designing ever more sophisticated aircraft and spacecraft while controling cost and time.

This is possible with the support of ESI's industry leading simulation solutions.

ESI's extensive suite of software addresses various disciplines at the heart of aircraft and spacecraft conception:

  • Design and optimization of internal and external airflows improve comfort and aerodynamic performance.
  • Vibro-acoustics simulation contributes to secure the vibration sustainability of satellites to be launched or to improve noise comfort of passenger airplanes.
  • In addition, ESI is greatly involved in the manufacturing simulation of high performance composites-based parts which are now more and more adopted for lower fuel consumption and peformance-efficient planes.

Customer testimonials:

The composite simulation solution from ESI Group is very attractive to us. The Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) process will have a good future in China. As ESI Group has such a wide scope of composite simulation solutions, I am confident that ESI’s solutions will benefit BIAM and LAC, and will leverage China’s aeronautics composite simulation level.”

We have found Weld Planner impressive due to the time taken to preform the analysis, the quality of results produced and the flexibility it offered in the early design cycle. Weld Planner enabled an investigation of the fabrication route to be integrated with the thermo-mechanical design stages of the assembly.”

"Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) uses CFD-FASTRAN, density based Navier-Stokes solver coupled with finite rate chemistry model to capture flow and thermochemistry profiles of a highly under expanded jet. The Flow structures and Gas dynamic discontinuities, Barrel shocks, Mach disks and Shock diamond patterns were captured well. CFD-FASTRAN code was also used to simulate higher altitude effects on under expanded jet at various altitude and Flight Mach Number condition. The continued technical support offered by ESI Group has been vital in completing the project within the scheduled time and cost that helped in intelligent design of experiments."
