This course is intended to convey advanced VA One theory and application concepts which focus on a subset of new capability just added to the VA One software. It will include both lecture and hands-on software analysis exercises. The topics are targeted at the aerospace vibro-acoustics community but anyone interested in the two principal topics below is welcome to attend:
- Stress/Force Recovery: The ability to recover stress, strain and reaction forces from both structural and acoustic loads. Todays aerospace designs are becoming more and more sensitive to vibro-acoustic design considerations. Such considerations are now truly design considerations as opposed to only having bearing on system environments. VA One now addresses the requirements to include stress, strain and reaction force determination as part of the vibro-acoustic simulation process. The process is simple and the extra modeling effort is minimal.
- Periodic Subsystem Modeling: A method to generically and accurately model any periodic structure using reduced FE models. Although SEA formulations exist for periodic structures, periodic subsystem modeling offers a powerful and generic approach to model any periodic structural component through small, efficient FE models of a single cell of the periodic structure. Results from such an analysis can be used stand alone to improve SEA models through obtaining their fundamental parameters via these reduced FE models.
