Presenters
- Dr. Patrick de Luca, Product Manager, ESI Group, France
- Mr. Venugopal K R, Country Sales Manager, ESI India
- Mr. Sridhar Rajagopalan, Sr. Specialist – SMF & Composites, ESI India
Agenda
- 1:45 PM-2:00 PM – Registration
- 2:00 PM-2:05 PM – Welcome Note
- 2:05 PM-2:15 PM – ESI Group: Company Overview (Presenter: Mr. Venugopal K R)
In this session, Mr. Venugopal will briefly present the history, vision and overview of ESI Group and its offerings. - 2:15 PM-3:00 PM – Introduction to ESI Composite Solutions (Presenter: Dr. Patrick de Luca)
ESI Group has been developing world class simulation solutions and offering consulting on composite applications. In this session, Dr. Patrick de Luca will introduce ESI simulation tools for different applications and how they can be used to solve real time issues. Topics such as RTM, VARTM, Infusion, Autoclave (Curing & Distortion), Forming of Prepregs, Draping, Failure Analysis, Effect of manufacturing on performance, etc. will be introduced. - 3:00 PM-3:15 PM – Tea-Break
- 3:15 PM-3:40 PM – PAM-RTM & its applications (Presenter: Dr. Patrick de Luca & Demo: Mr. Sridhar)
PAM-RTM is an advanced simulation solution capable of capturing various physics involved in processes such as RTM, VARTM, VARI, CRTM, etc and can help predict the end result of the mfg process for given configurations with a high level of accuracy. In this session, the modeling methods & required parameters to capture various processes that can be simulated in PAM-RTM will be discussed in detail. This will be followed by few real time case studies, correlation studies and a small demo on the PAM-RTM software. - 3:40 PM-5:00 PM - Material Characterization for Composites and Effect of Manufacturing on Mechanical Performance (Presenter: Dr. Patrick de Luca)
In this session, the importance of material testing for simulation applied to various processes (such as RTM, Forming, etc) and specific methodologies for specific properties (eg. Permeability) will be briefly presented. Also, some examples of the effects of the composite parts manufacturing onto mechanical performance will be presented. - 5:00 PM-5:10 PM – Q&A
- 5:10 PM-5:15 PM – End Note
