The ESI Welding seminar will focus on two main topics related to the welding activity:
- Weld Quality and residual stress engineering
- Distortion Engineering
With simulation-based Weld Quality and residual stress engineering, you can:
- Choose the best possible material
- Determine the best possible micro-structure after welding
- Evaluate material exposure
- Control residual stresses
- Minimize tensile stresses to avoid buckling
With simulation-based Distortion Engineering, you can:
- Optimise welding sequence in order to minimise distortions
- Identify distortion directions and magnitude
- Minimize gap fit up forces
- Minimize deviation from fixture forces
- Minimize the amount of weld consumables needed
Different simulation methodologies will be explored, attendees will be guided through selected applications and given advice on which methodology is used according to application and Industry sector.
Where?
The ESI Welding Seminar will take place in the Middle East Technical University, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department in
Inönü Bulvari, Ankara,Turkey.
