Digital Humans for Ergonomic design of products (DHErgo) is an EU funded collaborative research project. It aims to develop digital human models and to collect human functional data for a better evaluation of a product at its early stage of design.

The DHErgo project brings together four academic and research centers, having complementary expertise in dynamic multi-body modeling (CEIT), musculoskeletal data collecting and modeling (ULB), motion and discomfort simulation (INRETS and TUM).

The research teams work in a close collaboration with two complementary software editors, one developing anthropometric multi-body digital human software (Human Solutions), the other developing whole body musculoskeletal human simulation software (ESI).

Active participation of the three main European car manufacturers (Renault, BMW, PCA) as digital human model (DHM) technology end-user will guarantee that the project will stick to industrial needs.
